I Can See The Good In You - Contest Entry

STORY:

Angelica soared gracefully through the sky, looking for a cloud to sleep on for the night. No pony in town would offer her a home to stay at, most of them yelling and throwing objects, saying that she was evil and unwanted. Just the memory of it was enough to make her break down into tears. She couldn't fly like this. Angela Landed on a nearby cloud and buried her face into it. She let her tears fall, not wanting hold them back. She let out a quiet sob.
'Why do they hate me? what did I do wrong?' those words floating in her head often. she started to cry harder as she thought about it more. Her ears perked up and she heard a soft and gentle voice. She identified it as female.

"Hello? i-is anyone there?"

Angelica located the voice from behind the cloud she was on. She poked her head out some a ridge on the cloud.

She saw a small green pegasus, with a bold red mane looking around. The tiny pegasus had her eyes clenched shut, making Angelica wonder how the pegasus expected to find her like that. Then a thought popped into her head that the pony might be blind. Angelica started to move away and was about to jump off when something bumped the cloud, supposedly the pegasus. Angela let out a squeak as she fell off the cloud. she flapped her wings as quietly as possibly but it was too late. The pegasus noticed her

"I knew there was someone here! Hello! My name is Minty Flare! What's your name?" The tiny pony exclaimed happily.

Angelica stared at the pony, no one had spoken to her in such a happy manner.... she has to be faking. There was no other explanation.

"What do you want.... to yell at me some more?" angelica whispered, her voice cracking.

"Huh?" Flare tilted her head, her hair covering up her eyes with her movement. "What do you mean "Yell at you"?" She questioned.

Now angelica was truly baffled. Why had this pony bothered with her? Angelica was so deep in thought that she realized she kept her waiting.

"u-uh my name is angelica.." She softly muttered, silently hoping she didn't hear.

"Angelica.... That's a nice name!" flare complimented. "Now... What's wrong? why were you crying?" She asked Angela, wasting no more time.

"It's nothing... you were hearing things..." she said trying to cover up the fact that she was crying.

"My ears never mistake anything" Minty stated.

Angelica kept her lips sealed, refusing to say anything.

Minty came to the realization that she sounded like the pony that the ponies in ponyville were yelling at.

Minty took Angelica's hooves in her's, "Don't listen to what those ponies say- My vision may have failed me, but I can see the good in your heart, ponies who can't are truly blind"

Angelica stared in disbelief, her mouth slightly gaping. "Y-you really... think so?" Angelica studdered.

"Of course! I believe everyone has good in their heart..." Minty trailed off.

"Now! You can stay in my village! I'm certain everypony will love you!" Minty said cheerily.

Angelica felt like she was going to cry again, but she held back her tears with a sniffle. "Ok! I trust you..." The first time those words escaped Angelica's mouth.

The two pegasi flew off as the sun set, and the moon rose casting the rise of a beautiful friendship.
